Tiger and Rocco

I have written here in the past about my obsession with the game of golf, and (with tongue only slightly in cheek) how I wish a could be more like Tiger in temperament - given his extreme ability to focus as an Artisan Crafter. So, like many people ostensibly hard at work yesterday in the early afternoon, I was glued to the online broadcast of the last few holes of the US Open playoff between Tiger Woods and Rocco Mediate.  After an 18 hole playoff, the two were tied and the match …

What Kind of President Will They Be?

Temperament and Our Every Day Preferences

Over the past several years, we have run optional surveys following the Keirsey Temperament Sorter-II.  Usually consisting of 10-12 questions, people who have completed the KTS-II have the option of answering the additional questions, or skipping straight ahead to their Keirsey Temperament report. Usually the questions we ask have to do with looking at the potential links between our temperament, and everyday preferences - for example: movie ratings, political leanings, holiday gif…

Back From Puerto Vallarta

My vacation started out with a little unexpected excitement.  Our flight for PV left San Francisco Sunday morning at 9:00, but I woke up Saturday with a tooth ache...  The kind of tooth ache that made me understand the scene in "Castaway" where Tom Hanks extracts his own tooth with an ice skate blade.  So, fortunately (on a couple of counts) I had an emergency root canal Saturday afternoon and was still able to get on the plane Sunday morning and have a very enjoyabl…

After spending 372 days as a hostage in the Philippines, Gracia Burnham would run for cover at the sound of July Fourth fireworks. Her struggles are common among people who spend time in captivity, psychologists say. The 15 hostages rescued this week from Colombian rebels now face their own challenges.
