Every Sunday and Thursday
This process does not work. The candidate with the most articulate policies, better resume, or even heroic war record often loses the general election. There is a far more reliable method by which either the Democrats or the Republicans can choose a November winner in July. This method is so reliable, in fact, that it can be used to defeat a sitting president of the other party, and has a 100% success rate since at least 1900, the election with which we began our research.
What is the most reliable predictor of the November winner?
PersonalityZone! That is, the personality theory developed by Dr. David W. Keirsey.
That's right. Some of you who have studied personality theory, no doubt, grasp this intuitively. If the parties want to pick a candidate that will win in November, they need to consult personalityZone in February (before the conventions).
It's guaranteed. More than a century of presidential elections prove it.
I'll share the secret in my next entry. But here’s a clue: Teddy Roosevelt, Franklin D. Roosevelt, John F. Kennedy, Lyndon B. Johnson, Ronald Reagan, Bill Clinton, and George W. Bush have it. Alton Parker, Herbert Hoover, Alf Landon, Wendell Wilkie, Thomas Dewey, Richard Nixon, Barry Goldwater, Jimmy Carter, Walter Mondale, Michael Dukakis, George HW Bush, Bob Dole, Al Gore, and John Kerry don't.[Index to all articles in this series]

This is a very good article, and I can't wait to find out the real secret in the next issue. My guess is that has something to do with the personality that genuinely displays traits like honesty, integrity, approachability, enthusiasm, positive attitude and sense of humor. Like Randy said in his comment, HC needs to look like her laughs are real. The voting public picks up on personality traits like nobody's business. Rival candidates pick it up with a vengeance. Mr. Kazoo for President! |

I'm interested to see how this plays out. I agree with the poster above who things Hillary looks phony. What about Fred Thompson? Do you think he has a chance? |

After revealing the secret in my next article, I will take a look at each of the leading candidates, including Hillary and Fred Thompson. Based on the research we've done of past elections, some of my conclusions about who the best candidates would be, and who the worst general election candidates are may be surprising (as well as disappointing to some). |

This is a lot of fun. Now I've got two questions for you, Kip. 1) If this works so well (and it does), why haven't other intelligent people figured it out? 2) Is there any way to actually get a President with bone-deep integrity as well as political savvy?!? |

I saw you on the interview on KNTV, in which you discussed the termperments of the candidates and who was likely to win. I think you said that HC is a rational. Clearly Hilary's advisors are trying to address her deficit in the personality area -- her attempts to laugh more are likely designed to make her seem more outgoing and likeable, but they aren't working. It's being portrayed as a forced cackle, and SNL has already picked up on it. If you were her advisor, what advice would you give her?
