Broken English (John Cassevetes' daughter Zoe's answer to her friend Francis Ford Coppola's daughter Sofia's Virgin Suicides). An uber-indy New York looking-for-love story, it is meant to appeal to the kind of person who might not admit publicly to a lowbrow Sex and the City habit. It is a slightly dark romance, slightly more Idealist than Guardian in its approach. Rationals and Artisans (and most men) probably will not relate as well to at as the target audience does.   …

Syriana

Syriana is a geopolitical thriller with an Academy Award-winning screenplay by Stephen Gaghan, who wrote Traffic. Similar to the earlier film, it consists of multiple story lines connected by socio-political problems that have reached crisis levels. The X-Files: I Want to Believe

The X-Files: I Want to Believe, the second movie based on the popular TV series, seemed to satisfy the X-Files "addicts" in the audience with this reviewer - there was applause in the theater. It works well as a stand-alone puzzle-style thriller that should please the Rationals and Artisans that are the main target audience, whether or not they are already fans.   Hitch capitalizes well on the hint at depth Will Smith brings to any project, even a light, romantic comedy such as this. Nonetheless, the film will appeal most to the expected audience - Guardian women, some Artisan women, and a minority of Idealist women.
