A few million people are tuned into A New Earth Webinar for the next 8 weeks or so.

This has got to be an Idealist's seminar if there ever was one.

I just want to throw a brick in this lovely pond by asking (1) Where are the juices of life without competition, struggle, "sin," one-up-manship, and delicious ego? I contend that ego is not the manifestation of original sin; rather, ego is in fact our prime motivator -- as core to our DNA as toenails. I also contend that because God may indeed have duplicated him/herself imagewise that God him/herself possesses an enormous divine ego.

(2) Why is it that seekers of peace have such low energy? And why is it that seekers of self-aggrandizement, ambition, and power have such high energy? World peace sounds boring.

INTERESTING.....!

I love this book and am trying to zen my way through life. I told my aunt about it, another champion and she agrees with your line of thinking. I am accepting it right now because it has satisfied a lot of my questions, but of course I am not committing my life to it. In that way I think as champions go I have a streak of healer in me.

I like it because it calms the desperation in me, the constant need to look 'out there' when really all I ultimately need is 'in here'. That makes a lot of sense to me. Also because I've wondered about the ratios of the Universe - why male and female, why eyes and blood, blue and red, why animals, why sky and vast expanse, why more space than matter, why fingers, why reproduction why anything and everything. Why a heart and then why does it beat, who chose these things, WHY WHY WHY?????

It makes the most sense to me to think that everything is a bigger or smaller version of everything else in the Universe. That everything is a manifestation of the same thing for the good of the greater and the individual (a law of economics discovered by Nash) and for that reason there is an evolution of consciousness, a better and better manifestation of what is...the best now being the human brain the one thing that can think and say 'I am'!!!!!

I find it interesting that the most sophisticated thing in the Universe the human brain can be destroyed within seconds..WHY!! How could something evolve and be so amazing and yet be so vulnerable and ail and die? How could this be? Well if it's not an accident then it tells a story.

So one looks at the Universe and says, if nothing is a mistake and evolution is for the greater good then what is the Universe trying to say. It says that we are supposed to be vulnerable, we are supposed to not know, and in fact the mark of knowing a lot is ackowledging that one does not know anything at all. We can only know infinity because we see death, we can only know light because darkness is all around it, we can only know matter because space is all around it. It only makes sense that what we know and therefore what we are only exists in direct correlation with what we don't know and what we can't see, taste, touch, hear, feel. We label to communicate to one another but it does not mean that that thing, place or being owns that label or that that label owns it. Identify anything with what we know about it and we diminish it, accept that we don't know it and it is powerful and eternal.

That is where the power is, that is where we came from and where we are going.

I believe ego is apart of the evolution of consciousness. It is the foundation of awareness or the body of function that we all possess and then reject as we mature. Just as the flea on the dog is not the dog just because it lives by it, the ego is not us, it is a body of thought and feeling that lives by the brain but is not the brain. The brain itself is not us either, it is a mushy mass of chemcial receptors. What is 'us' is the 'Being' that uses these functions to evolve.

The ego is apart of that because as you've mentioned it drives us...and what has it driven us to - futility. So that we can see the Universe's story. It says you can work out, you can drive a fast car, you can have lots of money, you can have amazing sex, you can have wonderful children and then you can die. King Solomon was able to attain all of the ego's wants and then the ego said 'I want more', because that is its job. You can feed it all your life and it will never be enough so that one day some will say, 'perhaps I could use my energies elsewhere'. It was made to drive us off the ravine so that some along the way could say, 'hmm I don't think I want to take that path.' Those few are the ones we remember, whose stories we tell and whose ideas are a basis for ours. That is the evolution of consciousness, an abandoning of the path most take, an awareness outside the norm, a rejection of the ego or rather mastery of it.

It is supposed to be small in a world of big, eg. 'Horton hears a who', The Black Swan theory, etc. The things that are most evolutionary in the Universe are the small things that come out of nowhere and that is why they are revolutionary because they aren't known or expected. That is the nature of evolution, 'what is' can never accurately predict 'what will be' because what we are today is not what we are tomorrow. Today's brain cannot know that of tomorrow's, you can see this in movies that were made fifty years ago of future times, times we are in now and we laugh and think how silly those people were back then to think that we would dress in silver and travel in flying cars or that apes would rule the earth, and yet we are those silly people thinking we will know what will happen in fifty years.

For that same reason, I find it interesting that the abstract types are the minority amongst the population and yet/therefore the most influential. Keirsey, no doubt among those on the evolution of consciousness' employment list. He probably didn't decide to do what he does but does it because his work is a more natural task than breathing.

Our DNA carries the story of evolution and therefore is also apart of the awakening. We carry our forefathers pain and they theirs and so on. Hence the epidemic of cancer and other auto-immune diseases. Diseases that are not passed on via coughs and kisses but by legacies of self destruction increasing in power generation by generation so that now we carry a weight people were never meant to carry and yet we live and say this cannot go on and so we create the UN and the Internet and other venues of globalization.

We do not choose to be born and yet here we are making do, and that is all we can do or decide. A tree doesn't choose to become a tree yet we can choose to cut it down before we know it helps produce the air we breathe. Our destiny is death and our existence is now and all we can hope for is a contribution to the Universe.

Now that I have that out of my system:

To answer your question, I think it is geared toward idealists and some guardians might find it interesting. And of course Oprah is in heaven because as an ENFJ - Teacher she can take hold of the biggest classroom on the planet (the Internet) and catalyse Eckhart and all those lovely little disciples of hers. (Opraites) LOL!!!!

CORRECTION: I also believe that hope is a function of the ego because it is a mental construct designed to manage stress by thinking of the future as a better time to live. Even the bible acknowledges that hope will fall away because once the thing hoped for is realized there is no need for it. Hoping to contribute to the Universe is also futile because it will happen regardless. To contribute to the Universe is the privilege of every living thing. Even the baby who dies in the womb makes his mother try for more babies, stop trying or open up a fertility clinic. Judas Iscariot was as successful in carrying out the will of the Lord as were the other disciples of Jesus, it was to be done either way and Judas was the one chosen or whom chose (the difference between destiny and fate) to betray Jesus. In that way there is no good or bad there just 'is'. All accomplishes, all contributes. For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction and the quantum mechanics goes on.

I think I will finish this tiring journey for the reader with the words of a "Travis" song called 'Side":
"...The grass is always greener on the other side

(stepping on the soap box) .... I have lived long enough to see with mine own eyes and heart that "what comes around goes around". I believe in Karma. AND I believe that when people STOP pondering "why" the earth will die. The never ending quest for self realization and how EACH of us AFFECT everything in our own existence is the BEAUTY of life. Humans, Animals, Plants, Soil, Rock all have a life force in that each has necessary contribution to make to this world. Ego, Consciousness, Temperament, Personality, Aura, DNA all are real ingredients. BUT the greatest gift is the ability to choose what make of it.

p.s. I purposely wrote "comes around goes around" -vs- "goes around comes around" because in my life experiences, especially in a negative sense, the nasty crap usually comes first before anyone is forced to ask the questions "WHY" and then "HOW". I do believe good always wins over evil.

Ok.... i should have read this sooner... did you read my post? - good joke... so much of what has been going through my head for the last few weeks, although unrelated, are related because of how the universe works. what you say i must agree with. i have no argument to go against. i can only support, i feel that i am more myself these days( wonder why - no G's around)... to give fact to what you are saying. Think of the universe. think of how everything truly is connected. there is not seperate entities out there everything is one. Every adam out in the universe although millons of miles apart may at one time interact with each other. in fact they do. there is nothing untouched by anything. even the fast emptieness of space is not empty. i include this in what i want to say because. We think that we are so important. When we are NOT!!!. Our ego creates a level of importance for us. because that is its job. with out our ego knowing where it stands in comparison to others out there. it would kill it self. We must feel that we know more. or that we are special. take this for example. i stoped in at taco bell to get a grilled stuff burito(i know my bad) and one of the employes who seemed to be on his break, acted as if he was the "manager" or the boss, saying things like" i can come back when i feel." and " do this, do that." His ego had constructed a mind warp that being the manager of that place was important( sorry if you are a manager of taco bell) - as i compared it to myself. i could feel my ego readjusting itself and almost feeling like i am acoplished because i dont make minimum wage.... and that is when it all hit me. what the heck am i doing comparing myself as if to say " which one of us soliders, allthough laying here dying, has died the best.... we are all going to be dead shortly... but who... who's ego deserves to be on top one last time... and i am sick of my ego doing this. but it seems that in this world that we live. well here in the U.S.A. everytihg i see is driven by ego.... our egos... which act as that driving for propell us toward goals. but what type of goals. Goals that someone else has created for us. who the heck is someone else to tell me, you, or anyone what he or she should strive for. someone's ego out there is saying. hey everyone, lets have a competition and see who is on top. oh yeah lets call it life.... Really look around everything we do is in comparison to someone else. Our hair, ( i want to look like _____) or clothes ( i want to dress like _____) or jobs ( i want a respected job) or cars we drive ( that a honda?) or even our house and families and out children. What has happend to us. have we all forgot what it is we were meant to do..............LIVE.......... what does that word mean to us really as a society what does life mean. Our egos not only are a construct that has been created by the whatever you want to call it... the self ... the inner person... the soul.... what ever, but is something that was created to make us all slaves to the game that someone started. the game where someone said, compare me, judge me, rate me, am i better, am i worse, who is the best, who is the prettiest. LET IT GO... our ego let go of it and embrace the self for who you are. it seems that as a family, as a people, and as a nation, and as a member of the human race... what a fitting name for what we belong to... a "race" who is gonna get the gold. be free.
