As i encounter more and more people in my career, i see in them motivating factors that urge them forward. A sort of code of ethics or mantra that allows people to put their feet on the floor in the mornings and get up out of bed. These codes usually stem from some life occurence that forced these people to act/react in a certain way early on in life. I have never had the fortune/misfortune of ever having this sort of life changing event that would allow me to live by a certain code.
I was recently speaking with an old friend about life where things were and where things were going. she told me that she believed in carpe diem. Every moment she lived her life she was going to seize that moment and live her life. Every single moment she was going to use as a chance to better herself or her environment. I, of course, was very taken by this. Her belief came up several times throughout the conversation. She called it Carpe Diem. While she was young she had leukemia, and underwent chemo. She believed many times that her life may have ended or should have ended, and that she is now on "borrowed" time.

yeah i think she is a guardian... very industrious and orderly. Um, i just realized that half of my blog is actually missing. |

The closest thing I've got to a mantra is Karma. What goes around comes around. I think it's kind of like the Golden Rule, treat others the way you want to be treated. Is Carpe Diem a guardian mantra or something?
