Angels

I asked God to show me that I was capable of learning.
He told me to go to on a journey.
Afraid and alone, I went to California with an aching in my heart.
She took a wrong turn and my path was blocked.
In despair I cried, “I can’t do this, it’s too hard, I don’t know how.”
An angel appeared with light brown skin, messy hair and giant breasts swimming in polyester.
She held up a candle.
She smiled and said, “I have 7 degrees and soon I will have 2 more. I have 5 homes across this globe. I will learn always and now you will also. You will find your way.”
In despair I cried, “How could they do that? I can’t break free, I don’t know how.”
An angel appeared with fair skin, coifed hair and an agile body supporting a crisp uniform.
She held up a candle.
She smiled and said, “I have brought nourishment and comfort. You are safe to mourn here. Rest and I will guard your space for now.”
In despair I cried,” I don’t know the way. I will be lost. I can’t find my way.”
An angel appeared with deep brown skin, black shiny hair and strong arms.
He held up a candle.
He smiled and said,” I will loan you some tools. You can read the directions. You will safely find your way.”
In despair I cried, “I can’t do this, it’s too hard, I don’t know how. How could they do that? I can’t break free, I don’t know how. I don’t know the way. I will be lost. I can’t find my way.”
Angels appeared each with different temperaments and each with different histories, all holding up candles.
They smiled and said, “We know you can do this. You are already free. You found your own way. We knew you would come.”
When the blind man said I was beautiful, I knew, then, it was all true.
