I need a Rational to decipher whether I'm being bamboozled or not.
This delivery was made with a straight face:
"Let's say
You say you won't buy it because I bug you.
Then I didn't bug you until you didn't buy it.
Then you say you won't buy it because I bug you.
So if you buy it I won't have to bug you."
--> It's a good thing I think he's cute.
p.s. I don't even know what the heck he wants except my paypal password.

I'd think this young fella is more of an Artisan ~ Promoter! Heh heh ~ You wanted my reaction. I'd just ask him to give it to me straight. What is it he really wants & why. Next, is this something he & you are willing to negotiate? In other words, he learns the meaning of having to "work for it." Word to the wise ~ don't let your Champion advocate overrule the necessity of him earning it over your necessity to encourage him to be himself. {Oh, we're great at championing everyone else's authenticity, even if our own is in question all the time it seems!} |

Lesley, my love, this is an example of how hard smart children can make a parent work. A beautiful example of a precious, precocious child "F"ing (and I don't mean Feeling) with his Idealist mother's head (& heart --> I'm sooo frickin' PROUD). He's practicing some of my own "fuzzy" logic on ME! And now is when I have to be strong enough take personalitychamp & estanford's insight into account and meet the challenge of his negotiation without just melting into a puddle of "Ohhh MI BAAABEE is such a genius strategist and just look at how cute he is ---> I just HAVE to smother him with kisses before I buy another one of those damn guns I HATE. I LOVE THIS STUFF! |

Oh and p.s. I'm not allowed to somther him in kisses ... But I'm proud to say that all of the windows in my house are clean now ... inside & out! |

lol. too much brain power to deciper something that probably isnt as funny as it appear to be. Lol, then again, i dunno the little kid. haha |

He's asking for a blank check and you're wondering??!!!?? This sounds exactly like the torturous logic my 12 year old Rational son uses. As you say, sometime's he just so dang cute and logical that he gets what he wants. Recently we were talking about potential careers. He was asking about lawyer. His father and grandma said that he would need to be verbal, a good researcher, good at thinking on his feet and arguing, and persistent. I added that he would need to be a bit obnoxious. He laughed and said that it sounded like the perfect job for him.
